House Republicans Demand Answers From CIA Over Alleged Interference In Hunter Biden Probe

House Republicans are seeking answers from the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) following allegations that the agency prevented the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) from interviewing a key financial backer of Hunter Biden during the tax investigation into the president’s son. In a letter to CIA Director William Burns Chairmen Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and James Comer (R-Ky.) cited information provided by a whistleblower earlier this year.

“According to the whistleblower in August 2021 when IRS investigators were preparing to interview Patrick Kevin Morris an associate of Hunter Biden the CIA intervened to stop the interview” the letter stated. “Two DOJ officials were allegedly summoned to CIA headquarters in Langley Virginia for a briefing regarding Mr. Morris. At that meeting it was communicated that Mr. Morris could not be a witness during the investigation.”

The claims were corroborated by documents provided to the committees by IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapely and Joseph Ziegler. Shapley’s affidavit alleged that Assistant U.S. Attorney Lesley Wolf and Department of Justice (DOJ) tax attorney Jack Morgan were briefed by the CIA on their involvement in the Hunter Biden tax probe and subsequently informed that the IRS “could no longer pursue” an interview with Morris.

Morris an entertainment lawyer who has been dubbed Hunter Biden’s “sugar brother” has reportedly spent at least $6.5 million on the troubled first son’s legal fees child support and living expenses. The reasons behind the CIA’s objection to Morris serving as a witness and the nature of the classified information provided to Wolf and Morgan remain unclear.

The revelations have prompted House Republicans to demand answers from the CIA regarding its alleged interference in the Hunter Biden investigation. The agency has not yet responded to the lawmakers’ letter or requests for comment on the matter.
