Political strategist Roger Stone has expressed serious doubts about the FBI’s ability to investigate the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump. Speaking with The New American, Stone cited the agency’s contentious history with Trump as a key reason for his skepticism.
Stone, who has written extensively on political conspiracies, believes the Deep State has a long-standing practice of targeting prominent political figures. Referring to the Kennedy assassination, he stated, “They have successfully killed an American president. We still don’t definitively know who killed Kennedy, and the American people have never been told the truth about who tried to kill Ronald Reagan.”
In a candid interview, Stone made it clear that he does not trust the FBI to lead the Butler, Pennsylvania investigation. “No, we can’t trust the FBI to investigate themselves,” he asserted. “We can’t trust the FBI to investigate the Secret Service, and we can’t trust the Secret Service to investigate the Secret Service. This Justice Department is too politicized to conduct a fair inquiry.”
On Monday, Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle was grilled by lawmakers on Capitol Hill. During the hearing, Cheatle admitted she had not visited the rally site nine days after the shooting. Following intense scrutiny, Cheatle resigned, acknowledging the agency’s failure to protect Trump.
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) announced a bipartisan task force to investigate the security failures. Stone believes that Congress is the only institution capable of conducting a reliable investigation. “Only the House Republicans have the authority to thoroughly investigate this,” he said.
Stone had previously predicted that the Deep State would stop at nothing to remove Trump, including assassination if other methods failed. He sees the recent attempt as a continuation of these efforts. “The coup failed. They didn’t bankrupt him. They didn’t keep him off the ballot in 50 states,” Stone remarked. “There was only one other option… to kill him.”
Highlighting concerns about Trump’s security, Stone criticized the Secret Service’s performance. He compared the Butler incident to the Kennedy assassination, saying, “Many of the same violations of Secret Service protocol in Dallas were seen in Butler, Pennsylvania.”
With the House investigation underway, numerous questions need answers. Stone stressed the importance of a thorough investigation to reveal the truth behind the assassination attempt.
