Special Counsel Report Says Biden Might Have ‘Poor Memory’

U.S. Special Counsel Robert Hur said in a report Thursday that he declines to pursue criminal charges against President Joe Biden for willfully putting classified national security information at risk because Biden would plead that he is an “elderly man with a poor memory.”

Several political analysts and commentators speculated that the legal victory for President Biden may come at the cost of political consequences from voters thinking the president is too mentally unfit from advanced aging to hand a second term in the White House.

The report by the special counsel was unflattering of the president’s mental acuity, detailing that Biden could not remember when he served as vice president under former President Barack Obama and forgot the year his beloved son Beau died.

Hur wrote that in a trial, “Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview with him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”

Biden reportedly became angry and cursed when the topic of the special counsel report came up at a caucus retreat in Virginia on Thursday. ““You think I would f— forget the day my son died?” he reportedly told a group of House Democrats.

Back in the White House, Biden responded to the report from the Diplomatic Reception Room and cursed again as he insisted, “I know what the h— I’m doing.”

“How in the hell dare he raise that? Frankly, when I was asked the question, I thought to myself, it wasn’t any of their d— business,” Biden said. “I don’t need anyone to remind me when he passed away, or that he passed away.”

“The bottom line is the matter is now closed, and we can continue what I’ve always focused on, my job of being President of the United States of America,” Biden concluded.

A Democrat House member told NBC News the report was a “nightmare” for Biden politically even though the special counsel declined to prosecute him. “It weakens President Biden electorally, and Donald Trump would be a disaster and an authoritarian,” the U.S. representative told NBC anonymously, “For Democrats, we’re in a grim situation.”
