Those who subscribe to the extreme Marxist environmentalist movement will stop at nothing to achieve their subversive goals. Far left New York Attorney General Letitia James has filed suit against a meatpacking company, on the grounds that its claims of “carbon neutrality” by 2040 are unrealistic.

Brazilian-based JBS is the largest meatpacking company in the world, and James is taking legal action against JBS USA, its U.S. division.
James accuses JBS USA of “greenwashing” or making false claims about the environmentally friendly nature of their business. In a lengthy press release describing the charges, she states that JBS could not possibly achieve net-zero emissions by 2040 because “animal agriculture” contributes 14.5 of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions.
The upshot of the press release is that no company in the beef production business could ever be “carbon neutral” because it is far too polluting by its nature.
The attorney general makes outlandish claims that “Beef production contributes significantly to global climate change.” The press release makes a litany of other unsubstantiated assertions, such as: “As families continue to face the daily impacts of the climate crisis, they are willing to spend more of their hard-earned money on products from brands that are better for the environment.”
The entirety of James’ case is indeed based on politics and debunked and false science. About half of her document is propaganda-based quotes from a peanut gallery of environmental extremist groups.
The attorney general is asking the court to order JBS USA to cease their “Net Zero by 2040” campaign and to pay $5000 for each “violation” as a remedy for all “ill-gotten profits.” The number of “violations” will be determined by the court.
In a statement to the Daily Caller, a JBS spokesman said: “JBS will continue to partner with farmers, ranchers, and our food system partners around the world to help feed a growing population while using fewer resources and reducing agriculture’s environmental impact.
Our belief that American agriculture can help sustainably feed the world is undeterred.”
James’ attack on beef is straight from the Marxist playbook, as the end game is the elimination of meat. Some countries are ahead of the curve, even calling for mass culling of cows.
“Climate change” was once known as “global warming” until the public at large was no longer convinced that any man-made “warming” was occurring. James’ statement refers to “climate change” eight times but “global warming” only once in a clever bit of fraud: “When greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide and methane are emitted into the earth’s atmosphere, they trap the heat from the sun, resulting in global warming and climate change.”
Radical environmentalism once demonized the automobile above all else. Now even its seeming polar opposite — that of farming — has become a boogeyman of equal proportions. The movement is on a ” heads I win, tails you lose” rampage.
