Marjorie Taylor Greene ‘Swatted’ While Celebrating Christmas With Family

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) recently revealed that her residence was “swatted” on Christmas, stemming from a fake emergency call. The Georgia congresswoman praised law enforcement for their efforts as they responded to the latest prank call targeting Greene.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, Greene said that police were at her home while she was with her family on Christmas. The Georgia lawmaker said the recent spurious emergency call was “like the 8th time.”

“I was just swatted. This is like the 8th time. On Christmas with my family here. My local police are the GREATEST and shouldn’t have to deal with this,” Greene wrote on X.

A spokesperson for the Rome, Georgia Police Department said several calls were made through a crisis hotline requesting emergency services to Greene’s home. One of the calls came from Rome, New York, where a man said that he shot his girlfriend where Greene’s home is located and threatened to commit suicide.

“While en route to the address, personnel with the Rome (GA) Police Department coordinated with Greene’s security detail to ensure her safety as well as determine that there was in fact no emergency at the address,” the spokesperson added.

Since the summer of 2022, Greene has seen her home law enforcement raid her home more than 12 times. In August 2022, one prank caller claimed they were upset with the Georgia congresswoman’s stance on so-called “transgender” rights.

At the time, Greene expressed her appreciation for law enforcement, writing on X, “Last night, I was swatted just after 1 am. I can’t express enough gratitude to my local law enforcement here in Rome, Floyd County.”

Rep. Brandon Williams (R-NY) was swatted just hours after Greene on Christmas. The Cayuga County Sherrif’s Office said an emergency call was placed of a shooting at the New York congressman’s home. Officers concluded that there was no sign of present danger at the residence.

“Our home was swatted this afternoon,” Williams wrote on X. “Thanks to the Deputies and Troopers who contacted me before arriving. They left with homemade cookies and spiced nuts! Merry Christmas everyone!”
