Gaetz Blasts Hur For Giving Biden A Free Pass

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) recently slammed Special Counsel Robert Fur during testimony before the House Judiciary Committee for giving a pass to Biden, despite evidence showing the president willfully retained classified documents when he was a private citizen, which, of course, is illegal.

Democrats tore into Hur and worked hard to discount the special counsel’s recommendation not to charge the president in the case of the classified documents.

Hur admitted that during his investigation of Biden’s illegal actions, classified documents were found at the president’s home in Wilmington, Delaware, the University of Delaware and the Penn Biden Center, among other places.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, lawyer Jonathan Turley wrote, “Hur just confirmed that Biden had documents from when he was a senator. Some of those documents reportedly came from a secure SCIF, which would likely require Biden himself to remove them.”

Twitchy reported that the president had snuck classified documents out of secure facilities during his tenure as senator of Pennsylvania. Such a case is reminiscent of when then-President Clinton’s national security aide, Sandy Berger, pled guilty to retaining classified documents from the National Archives by putting them in socks and cutting them with scissors.

While questioning Hur, Gaetz issued a scathing rebuke of the special counsel for his “senile cooperator theory” in giving Biden a free pass. Hur had conducted interviews with the president demonstrating his weakening cognitive abilities, concluding that he was unfit to stand trial for his crimes.

The conservative firebrand quoted Biden’s comments, denying he had ever taken classified documents.

In response, Hur said, “That is inconsistent with the findings.”Again, quoting the president, Gaetz said, “All the classified documents were in lockable filing cabinets. That’s not true, is it.”

“That was inconsistent with the findings of our investigation,” Hur replied.
“Among the places Mr. Biden’s lawyers found classified documents in the garage was a damaged open box,” Gaetz said.

“You find in your report that the elements of a federal criminal violation are met, but then you apply this senile cooperator theory that because Joe Biden cooperated and the elevator didn’t go up the top floor, you didn’t think you’d get a conviction,” he added.
