President Joe Biden’s rogue Department of Justice declared its intentions to attack thousands of nonviolent Jan. 6 demonstrators who never entered the Capitol.
In the latest round of persecution against peaceful protesters, the DOJ will attempt to disrupt the lives of scores of law-abiding Americans. Prosecutions will leave a permanent stain on these citizens for the simple and constitutionally protected act of speaking out.

The announcement came last week from the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia. Matthew Graves insidiously declared that previously the DOJ wielded its power against “those who entered the building, on those who engaged in violent or rough conduct on Capitol grounds.”
Now, however, the DOJ will pursue demonstrators who did nothing but walk around outside.
He added, “If a person knowingly entered a restricted area without authorization, they have already committed a federal crime. Make no mistake, thousands of people [were] occupying the area that they were not authorized to be present in in the first place.”
Over 1,230 people have been charged with federal crimes related to the protests and roughly 730 have pleaded guilty.
According to the Associated Press, another 170 were found guilty in trials concerning Jan. 6. Remember, this persecution is coming from the same Democrats who cheered several months of violent and deadly protests during 2020.
The DOJ announcement followed closely last week’s ruling by a federal appeals court that even passive demonstrators could be prosecuted. The Biden agency sought to have the authority to issue sweeping charges of disorderly and disruptive conduct.
Prosecutors employed a slippery slope approach to targeting demonstrators. They argued that the numbers of people in the gathering provided cover for some bad actors to engage in violent behavior.
That despite troves of video evidence released in recent months showing the throng mostly milled about peacefully.
And to target those who were simply on the Capitol grounds on spurious charges is the height of hypocrisy. After all, the left gave cover to thousands of violent BLM protesters who burned police stations and looted indiscriminately for months.
Now, three years after the events of Jan. 6, they are concocting new ways to persecute peaceful protesters.
