Georgia Versus New York: The Tale Of Two Riot Responses

There is a stark difference between how New York handled a violent protest last week against how Georgia did the week prior. The two responses show just how far New York has fallen and that darker days may be in the near future.

While the police in New York were able to put a stop to the recent violent protests, they were undermined by other agencies. The protests over the death of Tyre Nichols at the hands of Memphis police devolved into violence in New York last week.

The police arrested a protester who allegedly assaulted an officer, only to have her released by District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

Compare this to the response in Georgia following the altercation between police and Manuel “Tortuguita” Teran. Police killed Teran, who they claimed fired at them. This was then met by left-wing rioting.

The police in Georgia were swift in putting down the ANTIFA rioters. Almost as quickly as it began, the police in Atlanta had the rioters restrained and the violent situation stopped.

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) immediately activated the National Guard and declared a state of emergency. His swift leadership saved the day.

Police were professional and firm in putting down the rioters quickly.

The New York Police Department (N.Y.P.D.) has many skilled officers on its staff. They are well-regarded among other police agencies across the country.

The problem isn’t with the members of the N.Y.P.D., but instead with the city and state government that restrains them. As a result, the police in New York have to effectively fight with one hand behind their back.

It’s completely unfair, but what the city and the police department have to deal with. Democrats in control of New York state and city have neutered law enforcement while empowering potential criminals.

There’s a reason why many New Yorkers are leaving and heading to Georgia. They just know how to take care of business down there.
