Woman Assaults Chipotle Worker After Dispute Over Burrito Bowl

A woman became violent at a Chipotle in Washington, D.C., when her UberEats order was missing the meat and condiments she had requested. The incident escalated after she was told the refund had to come from UberEats, leading her to take matters into her own hands. The altercation, which was caught on camera, shows the woman throwing a burrito bowl in the face of employee Roberto Hernandez.

Hernandez explained that the woman entered the store demanding a refund for the missing ingredients in her meal. When she was informed that the store could not process the refund and that it would need to come from UberEats, the woman became agitated. She went behind the counter to serve herself new burrito bowls, which she felt entitled to since her original order was incomplete.

As Hernandez tried to stop her, the woman responded by slamming the bowl into his face. Hernandez, choosing not to retaliate, walked away from the altercation. Later, he revealed that the woman had allegedly made online threats, claiming she would return to harm the store workers.

In an interview, the woman expressed some regret for her actions, though she justified her behavior, saying she had the right to take new food once her order was taken. She also mentioned previous incidents where “men” at the store had allegedly assaulted her, which contributed to her frustration.

Chipotle confirmed it would be filing a police report on Hernandez’s behalf. Hernandez, shaken by the assault, has since requested increased security at the store. The woman has also threatened to sue Chipotle for the incident.
