It may be a little late for a spooky Halloween story, but self-proclaimed witches are claiming their spells against President Donald Trump are failing. Many are frustrated, believing the former president has a “shield” blocking their magic and hindering their attempts to influence his return to the White House.
On forums like Reddit’s WitchesVsPatriarchy, witches are sharing methods such as “freezer spells,” where they place Trump’s name in water to symbolically freeze his influence. Despite these efforts, several claim their magic is having no effect, with one witch describing Trump’s shield as “flimsy but working.” Many in these online groups believe Trump’s supporters’ prayers may be strengthening this protection.

In light of these challenges, some witches have advised against targeting Trump directly, suggesting that focusing on supporting Vice President Kamala Harris might yield better results. One noted that spells aimed at Trump only seem to reinforce his supposed shield, making it difficult to bypass.
Trump has often referenced what he describes as divine protection, especially following an attempted assassination at a Pennsylvania rally. His followers continue to offer prayers, which some witches speculate may be the source of his mysterious shield.

Witchcraft has become more popular in recent years, with social media platforms like TikTok drawing millions of viewers to WitchTok videos on spells and rituals. However, former practitioners caution that witchcraft isn’t harmless. Jenny Weaver, a former witch who is now a Christian minister, describes how her own experiences with magic led to fear and darkness.
As Election Day approaches, frustrated witches continue to discuss ways to overcome Trump’s protection. For his supporters, however, this apparent “shield” only serves as further proof of divine protection at work.
