Trump Offers Resort Stay To 275 Linemen Preparing For Hurricane Milton Response

President Donald Trump extended an invitation to 275 linemen from Florida Power & Light, allowing them to stay at his Miami golf resort as they prepare to respond to the aftermath of Hurricane Milton. Eric Trump shared the news on social media, thanking the workers and praising their commitment to restoring power across Florida.

Hurricane Milton, downgraded to a Category 3 storm, is expected to cause severe damage, especially in the Gulf Coast region. Mandatory evacuation orders have been issued for nearly 6 million residents, and officials are warning of widespread flooding and infrastructure collapse once the storm hits.

The linemen are part of a larger effort organized by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who confirmed that more than 50,000 utility workers are standing by. DeSantis called it the largest staging of linemen in the nation’s history, ensuring power restoration efforts will begin immediately once the storm passes.

Trump’s Doral resort, known for its luxury amenities, typically charges over $300 per night for its rooms. The former president’s gesture of hosting the linemen is seen as a demonstration of his support for those working on the frontlines of disaster recovery.

In addition to hosting the workers, Trump has launched a GoFundMe to assist those impacted by Hurricane Helene, which caused widespread devastation across multiple states. So far, the fundraiser has raised more than $7 million for victims in need.
