Trump Ends Biden’s Access To Intelligence Briefings, Citing Security Threat

President Donald Trump announced that former President Joe Biden will no longer have access to intelligence briefings, citing concerns over national security and Biden’s mental state. The decision was revealed in a statement on Truth Social, where Trump made it clear that Biden’s clearance was being revoked immediately.

Trump pointed out that Biden had previously denied him access to intelligence briefings after the 2020 election, setting a precedent for such actions. In 2021, Biden justified the move by claiming Trump’s behavior was “erratic” and posed a risk. Trump stated he was now applying that same standard to Biden.

“There is no need for Joe Biden to continue receiving access to classified information,” Trump wrote. “We are immediately revoking Joe Biden’s Security Clearances and stopping his daily Intelligence Briefings.”

Biden, now 82, has faced increasing scrutiny over his mental fitness, with Special Counsel Robert Hur’s recent investigation concluding that Biden had “poor memory” and struggled to recall key events from his past. The report suggested that Biden had “significant limitations” and described his recollection as “faulty” and “hazy.”

Trump also highlighted Biden’s handling of classified documents, an issue that has raised concerns about security risks. According to Hur’s findings, Biden had “willfully retained and disclosed classified materials” from his time as vice president but was not charged due to concerns that a jury would see him as an elderly man with failing memory.

Biden has not issued a public response to Trump’s decision. In addition to revoking Biden’s intelligence access, Trump has also removed security clearances from multiple intelligence officials who signed a 2020 letter dismissing the Hunter Biden laptop story as a “Russian information operation.”
