President Donald Trump is accusing the FBI of corruption after the agency quietly shut down its Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) just before his return to the presidency. Trump voiced his anger over the move and questioned why the office was closed without explanation.
“We demand that the FBI preserve and retain all records, documents, and information on the now closing DEI Office—Never should have been opened and, if it was, should have closed long ago,” Trump stated on Truth Social. “Why is it that they’re closing one day before the Inauguration of a new Administration? The reason is, CORRUPTION!”
The FBI told Fox News that the ODI officially closed in December 2024 but did not explain why. The agency’s silence on the matter has fueled concerns about possible misconduct within the bureau.

Trump has repeatedly criticized diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs, claiming they divert attention from essential government operations. He has pledged to dismantle these programs and impose financial penalties on universities that promote what he calls “leftist indoctrination.”

Trump’s FBI nominee, Kash Patel, has echoed these concerns, arguing that DEI initiatives compromise the agency’s ability to focus on national security and public safety.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) also condemned the FBI’s emphasis on DEI efforts. In a recent letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray, Blackburn accused the bureau of prioritizing political agendas over its responsibility to safeguard the American public.
Similar DEI programs in universities and government offices have been facing increasing pushback, leading to widespread closures and budget cuts.
