Tennessee MS-13 Members Sentenced To 400 Years For Gang Crimes

Eighteen members of the MS-13 gang have been sentenced to a combined total of 400 years in prison for various criminal activities in Tennessee. This announcement came from the Department of Justice (DOJ) on Thursday, following a comprehensive investigation by federal, state, and local law enforcement.

The individuals, part of the notorious MS-13 gang, were involved in a wide array of crimes including murder, kidnapping, drug trafficking, and firearms offenses. This operation is a major effort to dismantle the gang’s network and reduce their criminal influence in Nashville.

Jorge Flores, 31, received one of the harshest penalties with a life sentence plus an additional 65 years. Kevin Tidwell, 30, also faced severe consequences, being sentenced to life plus 30 years. Other notable sentences include Luis Colindres, 27, who received 55 years, and Jose Pineda-Caceres, 25, who was sentenced to 52 years and three months. The remaining members received sentences ranging from 8 to 34 years.

The MS-13 gang, primarily composed of individuals from Salvadoran or Central American descent, has been a persistent threat, engaging in violent acts to maintain power and control. Their crimes date back to at least 2014 and include multiple murders and kidnappings. High-profile cases involved the 2016 murder of a rival gang member and the tragic killing of an 18-year-old woman during her birthday celebration.

The DOJ’s announcement underscores the ongoing commitment to combat gang violence and ensure the safety of communities. By removing these dangerous individuals from the streets, law enforcement agencies hope to bring a measure of peace and security to the affected areas.
