Project 2025: Author Defends Intent, Urges Critics To Read It

Hans von Spakovsky, one of the key authors of Project 2025, has countered critics by urging them to read the project, which predates Donald Trump’s current campaign. “I would challenge anyone who’s listening to these false criticisms, go read it,” Spakovsky asserted, describing the project as sensible and necessary. He clarified that Project 2025, initiated by the Heritage Foundation, aims to equip the next Republican administration with a comprehensive governance plan.

Project 2025 is structured around four essential pillars. The first, Mandate for Leadership, is a detailed policy manual compiled by over 350 conservatives, offering strategic direction for federal agencies. The second pillar introduces an online database, “Conservative LinkedIn,” set to launch in March, designed to streamline conservative appointments. The third pillar, the Presidential Administration Academy, will provide training for future political appointees, ensuring they are well-prepared to navigate government operations. The fourth and final pillar, the Playbook, will transform policy proposals into actionable plans for immediate execution.

Spakovsky emphasized the strategic foresight of Project 2025, aiming to address the shortcomings of past Republican administrations in adapting to government intricacies. While the project is not tailored specifically for Trump, it is designed to ensure the next Republican administration is ready to govern efficiently and effectively from the beginning.

The initiative represents a significant shift in conservative strategy, acknowledging the need to engage actively with the mechanisms of government to advance their agenda. This approach seeks to overcome the historical disadvantage conservatives have faced in the bureaucratic arena, positioning them to implement their policies more effectively.
