Party Leaders Exit As Democrats Face Internal Division

President Donald Trump opened sharp divisions between moderate and progressive Democrats during his Christmas Day message, suggesting significant changes for America’s northern neighbor while highlighting economic concerns.

Three prominent Democratic figures departed the party’s ranks, citing concerns about its leftward shift and internal practices, marking significant changes in the political landscape.

West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin, who left the party in May, delivered sharp criticism during a CNN interview. The departing senator characterized the Democratic brand as “toxic” while warning against progressive policies, stating emphatically that America would not embrace leftist ideology.

Tech executive Allison Huynh followed Manchin’s exit, pointing to public safety concerns in Democratic-led cities. The former Obama fundraiser described witnessing deteriorating conditions in San Francisco, including widespread drug use and criminal activity affecting local businesses.

Democratic fundraiser Lindy Li became the latest departure after facing intense backlash for criticizing the party. Li reported losing 40,000 social media followers and enduring personal attacks after discussing campaign spending and expressing positive views about some Republicans.
