NYT Defends Hunter Biden While Attacking Republicans

The left-wing New York Times wrote a piece praising the allegedly drug-addicted son of Joe Biden while attacking people who identify with conservative views.

The report, drafted by Adam Entous, Michael S. Schmidt, and Katie Benner, told a story of Hunter Biden losing his brother, leading him down a path of alcohol, illegal drugs, and prostitutes, all while bashing Republicans.

“The way Republicans tell it, President Biden has been complicit in a long-running scheme to profit from his position in public life through shady dealing around the world engineered by his son, Hunter Biden,” read the NYT article.

The 5,426-word piece attacked Republicans for pushing an allegedly “false” story about Joe Biden’s complicity in his son’s questionable business dealings.

As Townhall reported in Nov. 2022, House Reps. James Comer (R-TN) and Jim Jordan (R-OH) announced that a probe into the Biden family would be created in order to investigate multiple violations, including, conspiracy or defrauding the United States, wire fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, violation of the Foreign Agents Registration Act, violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, violations of the Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act of 2000, tax evasion, money laundering, and conspiracy to commit money laundering.

“Was Joe Biden directly involved with Hunter Biden’s business deals, and is he compromised? That’s our investigation,” Comer said at the time.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre faced a question from Fox News reporter Peter Doocy earlier this month regarding if Joe Biden was lying to the American people about “his involvement in his family business schemes.”

Jean-Pierre responded by not answering the question, instead attacking Republicans for not putting “inflation” as their number one issue.

The NYT seemingly tried to excuse the alleged criminal acts of Hunter Biden by writing about it in the context of the tragic passing of his brother, Beau Biden.

“And after the death of his brother, Beau, in 2015, Hunter descended into a spiral of addiction and tawdry and self-destructive behavior,” read the report.

The outlet then praised what a “wonderful” man Hunter has since become.

“He is sober now and no longer entangled in foreign business deals. He is a visible presence in his father’s life- his oldest daughter was married at the White House in November, and he attended a state dinner last month,” the article claimed.

The piece attacked the left’s main opposition as well, writing that the evidence “aggressive Republicans” show on the alleged Biden family business dealings is “exaggerated” and “often twisted” to “score political points.”

Townhall covered several topics that were not found in the NYT article:

However, what the NYT failed to mention was the large number of bank transactions flagged as suspicious by U.S. financial institutions, while ignoring the fact that Biden shared bank accounts with his son.

The authors also overlooked the fact that, despite having no prior experience in the energy sector or Ukraine, Hunter Biden was appointed to the board of Burisma in 2014 with a salary of $83,000 a month.

They also seemed to forget how Biden threatened to withhold $1 billion from Ukraine if the Ukrainian government did not fire the prosecutor who was investigating Burisma.

But no, the NYT is right, the Biden family did nothing wrong and Republicans are all just making this up in their heads.
