Musk Calls For Accountability As Fauci Faces Renewed Scrutiny

Elon Musk has once again called for Dr. Anthony Fauci to be held accountable for his role in managing the pandemic. Taking to X, Musk posted, “My pronouns are still prosecute/Fauci,” continuing his years-long critique of the former chief medical advisor’s decisions.

Musk’s statement came in response to discussions of Fauci’s financial benefits. Fauci retired as the highest-paid federal employee with an annual salary of $480,654, an estimated $355,000 pension, and a reported $11 million net worth. Additionally, $15 million was spent on Fauci’s security in the two years following his retirement.

Fauci has faced accusations from Republicans and conservatives over his alleged involvement in funding gain-of-function research at the Wuhan lab, where COVID-19 is suspected to have originated. During a House panel investigation earlier this year,

lawmakers pressed Fauci on whether he played a role in covering up a potential lab leak. Fauci denied the allegations, calling them “false and preposterous.”
Musk’s criticism of Fauci dates back to the early days of the pandemic, when he called

panic over COVID-19 “dumb.” After acquiring Twitter in 2022, Musk lifted bans on discussing the virus’s origins and has since amplified critiques of pandemic policies.

As a prominent advisor to President-elect Donald Trump, Musk has been instrumental in advancing conservative priorities. His $100 million donation to pro-Trump efforts and his voter registration initiatives have solidified his role in shaping Trump’s upcoming administration.

With Musk’s influence growing, his push for accountability regarding Fauci reflects a broader conservative effort to revisit pandemic-era decisions and address perceived government overreach.
