A fiery debate broke out between White House senior adviser Stephen Miller and CNN’s Brianna Keilar on Tuesday as they argued over illegal immigrants allegedly committing tax fraud. Miller pushed back against Keilar’s framing, insisting that the administration was determined to stop taxpayer dollars from being misused.
Keilar pressed Miller on whether the administration was using IRS records to track illegal immigrants fraudulently receiving benefits like child tax credits. Miller confirmed that any illegal activity uncovered would be reported and that enforcement agencies would handle cases appropriately.

Miller accused illegal immigrants of using stolen identities and fraudulent Social Security numbers, calling it a major issue that the media refuses to acknowledge. “These are felonies,” he said, emphasizing that fraud cases would not be ignored.

Keilar attempted to shift the conversation, but Miller stayed on the offensive, criticizing what he described as a lack of interest from mainstream media in covering financial crimes committed by illegal immigrants. He argued that deportations would benefit American workers by freeing up jobs, housing, and benefits.
Miller also dismissed the notion that the administration was targeting immigrants unfairly, stating that no group should be allowed to steal from taxpayers. “No one is given permission to break the law anymore,” he said.
As the interview wrapped up, Miller made a pointed remark about Keilar’s questioning, suggesting that she was not approaching the issue in an unbiased manner.
