Erin Quinn, a southern California volunteer for a holiday toy drive, survived a violent kidnapping attempt after being lured to a fake donation pickup. The attacker, who Quinn recognized as her former housekeeper, left her battered and terrified.
The assailant, disguised in a wig, ambushed Quinn inside her car, using a Taser to shock her repeatedly. Forced to drive for 25 minutes, Quinn eventually crashed the vehicle in a desperate bid to escape.
During the struggle, Quinn bit off part of the attacker’s finger after she tried to rip Quinn’s mouth open. The encounter left Quinn with taser burns, bruises and clumps of her hair ripped out.
“I’m completely terrified,” Quinn said. “I don’t know why she would do this, but I believe she was trying to take me to Mexico.”
Quinn managed to get away with the help of a bystander, though she criticized others who filmed the attack instead of intervening.
Police are still searching for the suspect, but Quinn hopes her case will prompt greater awareness about safety during the holiday season.
