Raheem Kassam, Editor-in-Chief of The National Pulse, recently criticized the Biden-Harris administration’s Department of Justice (DOJ) investigation into alleged Russian influence.
Kassam called the probe a “confected narrative” designed to shift attention away from larger foreign influence issues, particularly those involving China.
Speaking on the Charlie Kirk Show, Kassam explained that the investigation targets Laren Chen, a Canadian influencer who has been openly critical of President Donald Trump. He added that figures like Tim Pool and Benny Johnson, also mentioned in the probe, appear to have been unaware of their involvement. Kassam likened the situation to the 2016 election, where Russia was similarly used as a tool to attack conservatives.
According to Kassam, China’s influence on leftist politics and media is a far greater issue. He pointed to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) efforts to spread propaganda through initiatives like Confucius Institutes, which operate in American schools. He also referenced the recent scandal involving Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ), who has been accused of taking bribes from foreign governments.
Kassam was particularly critical of corporate media’s foreign ties. He accused major outlets like CNN, Bloomberg, and News Corp of being influenced by foreign money, calling their operations “pay-for-play.” In contrast, Kassam praised The National Pulse for being entirely member-funded, allowing it to maintain editorial independence.
The DOJ’s probe, Kassam argued, is a distraction timed to divert attention away from the upcoming election and scandals involving left-wing figures.
