Vice President JD Vance condemned pro-Ukraine demonstrators after they followed him and his 3-year-old daughter during a weekend outing, causing the young child to become visibly shaken.
The vice president took to X to describe the encounter, writing that protesters chanting “Slava Ukraini” trailed them, refusing to stop even as his daughter became anxious. He ultimately decided to engage with them, hoping to end the situation. “(Nearly all of them agreed.) It was a mostly respectful conversation, but if you’re chasing a 3-year-old as part of a political protest, you’re a s— person,” Vance posted.
JD Vance’s young daughter was harassed by Ukraine flag 🇺🇦 protestors.
I expect this to be a national scandal and front page news for the next 24H, at least.
Because I *KNOW* that if a MAGA protestor was seen harassing a Democratic politician’s children, that would happen.

This is not the first time Vance has been targeted by demonstrators. Protests erupted after the Trump administration’s recent meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, during which U.S. officials urged Ukraine to move forward with peace negotiations. As part of that effort, the White House halted military aid, prompting backlash from pro-Ukraine activists.
NEW: Footage has emerged showing U.S. Vice President JD Vance engaging calmly with pro-Ukrainian protesters who, according to Vance, had been following and shouting near him and his 3-year-old daughter during a walk, causing her to become anxious and scared.

In addition to following Vance in public, protesters have been spotted outside his home in Cincinnati, according to local reports. He was also confronted last weekend while on a ski trip with his family in Vermont. The demonstrators were part of an activist group that has accused the administration of abandoning Ukraine in its pursuit of a diplomatic resolution.
The Trump administration’s firm stance on ending U.S. military involvement in the conflict appears to be forcing Ukraine to reconsider its position. Zelensky signaled just days ago that he would sign a deal that benefits both his country and the U.S., focusing on economic cooperation rather than continued warfare.
The protests against Vance have escalated in response, raising questions about how far activists are willing to go in their opposition to the administration’s policies.
