Homeowner Shoots And Kills Suspected Intruder In Albuquerque Break-In

An early morning break-in at an Albuquerque home ended with the alleged intruder being fatally shot by the homeowner. The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to the scene around 3:45 a.m. after receiving a report of a break-in near Lost Horizon Drive.

The homeowner, who has not been identified, told authorities they shot the suspect during the intrusion. When deputies arrived, they found the suspect critically wounded. Despite efforts to save the intruder’s life, the individual was declared dead after being taken to a nearby hospital.

The incident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office homicide detectives, but no charges have been filed against the homeowner at this time.
