Polar opposites in the U.S. House went to war last week on Twitter as Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) took strong issue with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) unhinged rant against her party.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and his GOP colleagues kept their commitment to unseat Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) from her perch on the House Foreign Relations Committee. This was due to Omar’s numerous anti-Semitic remarks made while on the panel.
Their action did not sit well with AOC.
The firebrand Democrat took Republicans to task for Omar’s removal, calling them racist hypocrites and slamming a notebook onto the podium for emphasis.
She also blasted the GOP for allowing Greene back onto committees after Democrats controversially removed her from her assignments. Ocasio-Cortez piled on that Omar’s dismissal was a blatant attack on “women of color.”

This despite the obvious fact that Republicans also removed Reps. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) and Adam Schiff (D-CA) for reasons of security and honesty. The pair have never been accused of being “women of color.”
Greene noted this and asserted that “Democrats no longer support feminism. They support men beating and replacing women.”
The Georgia representative has repeatedly called for the opportunity to debate AOC, which would unquestionably be an entertaining spectacle. When a Twitter user told Greene that “she’d eat you alive,” the Republican responded with her usual sharp wit.
Greene observed that “AOC has never put her degrees to work in the real world to find out half of what they teach you in college are theories that do not work.” Noting the New York Democrat’s brief stint as a bartender, Greene said that her rival “even makes bartenders look bad.”
When AOC responded to this blast, Greene further took her and her New York colleagues to task for misusing COVID-19 relief funds to sponsor events “like Drag Queen story time.”
Greene then asked if it was a good time to brainwash kids and lie to them about gender. All of this at the same pandemic period when the state was forcing them to stay out of school.
A debate between the two, for all its political value, would also serve to spotlight the incredible hypocrisy the leftist media displays concerning them. One is a darling and the other a pariah, and statements by one are praised while the other is roundly demonized.
