Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) are calling for the FBI to turn over a paper they claim shows a plan for an “alleged criminal scheme” that potentially implicates then-Vice President Joe Biden in regards to potential national security risks due to his relations with a foreign national.
Comer issued a subpoena requesting the document to the FBI Wednesday, which according to The Hill signified the intensification of the Republicans’ probe of Biden directly following other related investigations into the foreign business activities of his son, Hunter, as well as other relatives and colleagues.
The House Oversight Committee chairman provided a justification for the legal order in a letter drafted to Wray as well as Attorney General Merrick Garland. Grassley, who co-authored the letter, is another Senator who is working to investigate Hunter Biden and the Biden family more broadly.
“We have received legally protected and highly credible unclassified whistleblower disclosures,” the letter reads. “Based on those disclosures, it has come to our attention that the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation possess an unclassified FD-1023 form that describes an alleged criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Biden and a foreign national relating to the exchange of money for policy decisions. It has been alleged that the document includes a precise description of how the alleged criminal scheme was employed as well as its purpose.”

A spokesperson representing the FBI told the Washington Examiner that the agency is aware of the subpoena and letter but had no further remarks to give.
Comer said Wednesday that whistleblower leaks have brought up concerns that then-Vice President Biden may have bribed a foreign national.
He added, “The American people need to know if President Biden sold out the United States of America to make money for himself. Senator Grassley and I will seek the truth to ensure accountability for the American people.”
A video report by the Washington Examiner said that Comer’s subpoena requests for the FBI director to provide an array of forms that contain information about interviews the agency had with various key witnesses and other sources.
