Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) has sounded the alarm about multiple assassination teams currently targeting President Donald Trump, raising concerns about the adequacy of the security surrounding the former president. Speaking on Breitbart News Daily, Gaetz disclosed that five teams are known to be operating in the U.S., three of which are foreign-based.
Gaetz explained that he had received this information from a senior official at the Department of Homeland Security. “We are aware of at least five teams in-country that are geared toward killing Trump,” Gaetz said. He elaborated that three of the teams have foreign connections to Iran, Ukraine, and Pakistan, while the other two are domestic.
The congressman expressed frustration with the current security measures in place, suggesting that more resources are needed to protect Trump effectively. Gaetz referenced the recent assassination attempt in West Palm Beach, where a suspect had been waiting near Trump’s golf course before being arrested by the Secret Service.
Gaetz also raised concerns about reports that security resources have been diverted from Trump’s protective detail to other officials. He called for Congress to investigate whether the Secret Service has the necessary tools and personnel to handle the growing threat.
With Trump facing two assassination attempts already, Gaetz stressed that the situation is becoming increasingly dangerous and that immediate action is required to protect the former president from further harm.
