FBI Pursues Terror Suspects After New Orleans Attack

Federal investigators are searching for members of a suspected terror cell linked to a New Year’s attack in New Orleans. Shamsud-Din Jabbar, 42, was identified as the attacker who killed 10 and injured 30 during the assault in the French Quarter.

Jabbar’s vehicle contained firearms and bombs, with the explosives hidden in coolers and wired for remote detonation. An ISIS flag was found with Jabbar, and surveillance footage captured additional suspects placing bombs before the attack.

The FBI has confirmed that Jabbar did not act alone, with officials actively pursuing his known associates. Assistant Special Agent Alethea Duncan said investigators are working to uncover all individuals connected to the plot.

Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry described the suspects as “bad people” and confirmed that law enforcement is aggressively tracking them. Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) affirmed the FBI’s commitment to catching all accomplices involved.

Agents searched the home of Jabbar’s ex-wife as part of the investigation. Her current husband reported that Jabbar exhibited erratic behavior during his conversion to Islam, raising concerns about his ties to extremist groups.

The FBI Hostage Rescue Team has reportedly arrived in New Orleans to support the manhunt. The team specializes in dismantling high-risk threats, including terror cells.
