Delegate From Texas Robbed At Gunpoint After Democratic Convention In Crime-Ridden Chicago

A delegate from Texas attending the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago became the latest victim of the city’s ongoing crime wave after being robbed at gunpoint on Wednesday. The robbery occurred in the early hours of the morning while the delegate and a friend were walking downtown. Two masked men in a dark blue Range Rover approached them, brandishing a semi-automatic handgun and demanding their belongings.

After robbing the delegate, the criminals crossed the street and robbed two more victims before fleeing the scene. The suspects have been described as two Black males dressed in black, wearing ski masks. Authorities believe these individuals are responsible for multiple robberies in the area.

Chicago police have issued a community alert and are seeking tips that could lead to the suspects’ arrests. The incident draws attention to Chicago’s ongoing struggle with violent crime, as the city has experienced nearly 1,400 shootings and 344 murders so far this year.

The robbery comes as Chicago hosts the DNC, where party leaders gather to promote their agenda, but the city’s crime statistics paint a grim picture. Last weekend alone saw 26 shootings, resulting in 30 victims and five deaths. Despite the high-profile event, the wave of crime in the city shows no signs of slowing down.
