Chinese National Arrested For Repeated Trespassing At Mar-A-Lago

A Chinese national, Zijie Li, has been arrested again for attempting to access President-elect Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate. The 39-year-old, who lives in Los Angeles on a student visa, was detained Thursday after arriving at the estate in an Uber.

Li’s latest arrest comes after a judge had ordered him to stay away from Mar-a-Lago following multiple incidents since July. According to police, he had just been released from a mental hospital where he was held after a previous attempt to enter the estate.

In July, Li first tried to enter Mar-a-Lago, claiming to have information about an assassination attempt on Trump. He was denied entry but returned days later and was arrested for trespassing. Despite his release on bail, he continued to seek access to the estate, leading to further confrontations with authorities.

Last week, Li approached a local homeowner near Mar-a-Lago, asking if she could help him gain access to the property. Police were called, and he was taken to a mental health facility for evaluation. Upon his release, he returned to the estate, resulting in his latest arrest.

Mar-a-Lago has been a focal point for security breaches during Trump’s presidency, including several incidents involving Chinese nationals. In 2019, Yujing Zhang entered the property with electronic devices, raising concerns about espionage. She was later convicted of trespassing and deported.

The Palm Beach County Public Defender’s Office, representing Li, has declined to comment. His repeated attempts to enter the estate highlight ongoing security challenges at the high-profile property, which remains central to Trump’s activities and public appearances.
