Biden Admin Issues Guidelines To Prohibit Bans On Men Joining Women’s Sports

A new proposal to modify the Title IX civil rights law by making it illegal to ban so-called “transgender” athletes from participating in the opposite gender’s sports was announced by the Biden Administration’s Department of Education (ED) on Thursday.

Notably found in the desired modifications is a clause stipulating that public K-12 schools and colleges would be forbidden from forming a “one-size-fits-all-policy” that compels students to only in sports matches against their own gender, The Daily Caller reported.

“One-size-fits-all policies that categorically ban transgender students from participating in athletics consistent with their gender identity across all sports, age groups, and levels of competition would not satisfy the proposed regulation,” reads an ED fact sheet on the topic. “Such bans fail to account for differences among students across grade and education levels. They also fail to account for different levels of competition — including no-cut teams that let all students participate — and different types of sports.”

Republicans have in the past pointed out that such an attempted change may occur, with many candidates making the pervasive gender ideology a part of their campaign platform:

At one point, the agency’s proposed changes sheet writes that the agency acknowledges “a valuable, even if not readily quantifiable, benefit” of allowing students to participate in sports of the opposite gender under their desired regulation update. It also notes that it is necessary for public schools to consider “fairness in competition” and stopping “sports-related injury,” as it creates policies pertaining to the formation of sports teams.

Previously, the ED put forth a set of desired changes for Title IX in June 2022, asserting that traditionally gender-segregated buildings, bathrooms, and locker rooms should allow the entry of anybody who desires it.

This news of the Biden Admin attempting to further cement gender ideology into public life comes as more than a dozen Republican-led states have approved legislation prohibiting athletes from participating in the opposite gender’s sport.

On Friday, the Kansas State House and Senate alike voted for a related bill that aims to ban so-called gender-transition treatment for children. The proposal is now headed to the desk of Gov. Laura Kelly (D), who is expected to issue a veto.
